Lovey wanting the impossible

Lovey wants the impossible, trying to be Shirley Temple when she knows she is from a different nationality, she is Japanese- American and Shirley is American. Lovey has different color hair, different style of hair. It is impossible for her to look like Shirley Temple, even if she does get the hair like that she will never be like her but the want and the must have will grow stronger for her. The effect on her sense of self is obviously affecting her. She wants to look like a person on TV thinking that, it will bring her happiness. By doing this it is giving her a sense of doubt and shame of where she comes from and how she looks. It seems like by looking like Shirley all her problems she has will go away, or that she can get attention, and be this innocent and cute child she sees on TV.

  1. Many people believe that being rich or famous can bring them happiness. In many cases, this is not true. In order to be happy at a minimum, you have to be healthy, have loving family and friends, and a shelter over your head. Lovey is surely healthy and she lives in a house and has caring family and friends. She might be unhappy that she isn't rich or famous, but she is fortunate to be in her own position in life.

  2. She should not be ashamed but accepting of where she comes from and who she is. If she does not do this she will never be happy with herself or her life. Great blog
