Into the Forest

There is a notion that we have of need and want in this world, just to satisfy the appetite that we have for something that we may not even need, yet we think we want it because we think that it is going to better our life. Jean Hegland's quote is telling us that we take up so many things thinking that we need them, we take and take and take and in the end there will be no more. We take up the water, the food, the trees, etc. that this world is providing us with and in the end we are going to be left with nothing, and no wonder there are are wars, the air is polluted, the water is getting contaminated with oil because we "need" it for our cars, etc. Do we really need it? We confuse our want with need, and we don't realize it until it is too late. I think that this is true, we may or may not end up living in the forest, but we are confusing ourselves with wanting so many things that it will end up costing our lives, our planet, everything.
